Founding Product Designer

The Founding Product Designer works onsite in Seattle, Washington, with the engineering team in Pioneer Square, five days per week. Compensation is $160,000–$190,000 per year. Scholarly is building AI-powered software for higher education, with a faculty-first focus and a mission to become an AI-native system of record for faculty data. As the company’s first full-time designer, this role owns product design from customer problem through shipped experience and establishes the design system and process. The designer conducts user research, prototypes in code, shapes the brand, and contributes to product decisions so the platform can simplify higher-education workflows and support better institutional decision-making.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end product design, including workflows, information architecture, interaction, and visual design
• build and maintain the design system
• conduct interviews, usability tests, and site visits with faculty and administrators
• prototype in HTML and CSS and collaborate with engineers
• lead design for the website and sales and demo materials
• contribute to product direction.
