The role supports project delivery by producing permit-ready designs, evaluating materials and costs, and coordinating with customers, suppliers, and construction teams.

What you'll do

• Direct, design, analyze, and draw structural plans for new buildings, additions, and renovations
• design conventional steel buildings and framing plans
• design shallow foundations, slabs, retaining walls, pits, and reinforcing
• develop drawings and specifications for permits
• coordinate with architectural and civil staff
• review and seal drawings
• review steel supplier shop drawings
• estimate materials and labor and coordinate deliveries
• perform quantity takeoffs and cost development
• coordinate with suppliers
• identify value engineering opportunities
• work with customers, code officials, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
