Compensation is $19–$20 per year. The Public Benefit Specialist is an onsite role based in Richmond, VA, supporting the revenue cycle department at Bon Secours - St Mary's Hospital. 65 - $20.50 per hour. This role exists to interview uninsured or under-insured patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid or financial assistance programs. The specialist facilitates the application process, manages follow-ups, and ensures accurate billing and adjustment processing to support the hospital's financial health.

What you'll do

• Reviewing referred uninsured/under-insured patients for program eligibility
• coordinating application submissions
• communicating with patients to obtain required documentation
• following up on applications to determination
• documenting actions in patient accounting systems
• maintaining knowledge of state/federal program requirements
• building relationships with Medicaid caseworkers.
