The Music Therapist role is onsite in Richmond, VA, with compensation of $30–$35 per hour based on experience. James River Home Health & Hospice provides compassionate patient care through hospice services. The therapist assesses patients’ emotional, physical, social, and cognitive needs and provides individualized and group music therapy to support comfort, relaxation, stress reduction, and quality of life. The role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust patient-centered treatment plans.

What you'll do

• Assess patients’ emotional, physical, social, and cognitive needs
• develop individualized treatment plans and therapeutic goals
• provide individual and group sessions using instrumental, vocal, and other music techniques
• monitor responses, document progress, and adjust plans
• coordinate care and communicate findings with the interdisciplinary team
• maintain accurate, confidential records
• participate in team meetings and continuing education.

Why this role

Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and completed internship required; master’s degree preferred. Two years of experience, including hospice experience, preferred. Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance required.
