Field Engineer Intern

Job overview

The Field Engineer Intern role is primarily based at an assigned project site for most of the summer, with approximately two weeks in the ICM corporate office in Colwich, KS. Pay is $20–$21 per hour. The internship supports construction project activities and helps projects meet schedule and budget goals. The intern assists project and field teams with tracking, procurement, coordination, installation verification, and safety checks. The work provides practical exposure to construction management and the ethanol production process while supporting site execution and contractor coordination.

What you'll do

• Track labor-hour reports and procurement logs
• monitor progress across concrete, structural steel, mechanical, and electrical trades
• assist with material requisitions and project schedule updates
• attend project and vendor meetings
• support equipment unloading and staging
• track change orders and rework
• assist with contractor oversight
• verify installations against drawings and specifications
• conduct safety walks and daily policy checks
• assist with estimating, logistics, contracts, and project-scope understanding.
