CNC Grinder Machinist – First Shift

The CNC Grinder Machinist role is onsite in Buffalo Grove, IL, on first shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Pay is $30–$34 per hour, depending on experience. The role supports Sterling Engineering’s manufacturing team by producing precision parts to specified tolerances. The machinist operates grinding and other conventional machine-shop equipment, sets up machines, and inspects parts against blueprints and engineering specifications. The role may also involve operating CNC machines as needed and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

What you'll do

• Operate grinders and vertical or horizontal saws to produce and detail parts
• set up machines and adjust speeds, feeds, and depth of cut
• inspect parts for conformance to tolerances
• follow blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders
