What you'll do

• Attend police academy training and participate in classroom instruction, fitness training, defensive tactics, firearms training, emergency vehicle operations, first aid/CPR, and practical exercises
• study laws and department procedures
• develop communication, de-escalation, report-writing, and evidence-handling skills
• complete required tests and evaluations
• participate in community-oriented policing activities as time permits.
