Buyer, Production Procurement

Job overview

The Buyer role is onsite in Boise, ID. Compensation is not specified. The position is in the Operations department and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The Buyer procures materials and services needed to support the company’s production plan. By coordinating demand, suppliers, purchase orders, deliveries, and procurement procedures, the role helps keep production supplied and schedules current.

What you'll do

• Work with production material-planning software and program managers to identify demand
• prepare purchase orders, select vendors, obtain quotes, negotiate prices, schedule deliveries, and coordinate specification checks with Quality
• track goods receipts and outsourced processes
• update planning software and the Planning team on task completion and schedule changes
• maintain supplier relationships and develop alternate suppliers
• maintain product-cost files
• develop and maintain procurement standard operating procedures.
