The unit offers opportunities to gain expertise in managing post-cardiac interventions and educating patients.

What you'll do

• Care for patients with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), coronary artery disease (CAD), Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA) and other disease processes.
• Manage continuous infusions including but not limited to: Milrinone, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Insulin.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and respond to clinical changes.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver high quality care.
• Gain an understanding of how cardiology interconnects with other body systems.
• Care for patients requiring oxygen therapy utilizing High Flow Nasal Cannula or BiPAP.
• Educate patients on heart health, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
• Gain knowledge of managing post-cardiac interventions such as pacemaker, lifeVest, and automated implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (AICD) placement.
