Quality Engineer

Job overview

The Quality Engineer role is onsite in El Segundo, CA, with an annual base salary of $120,000–$160,000. Space Kinetic is developing a new spacecraft operations architecture and scaling production of flight hardware. This engineer helps build quality into spacecraft and flight hardware throughout development, integration, and delivery. The role owns quality for a major space program, supports implementation and certification of an AS9100 quality system, and works across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and operations to establish repeatable processes and mission-ready products.

What you'll do

• Partner with engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
• develop product quality plans, inspection strategies, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria
• review drawings and technical documentation
• facilitate Material Review Board activities and nonconformance disposition
• support failure investigations and corrective actions
• witness manufacturing, integration, environmental, and functional testing
• support metrology, supplier qualification, AS9100 implementation, audits, First Article Inspections under AS9102, process validation, production readiness, quality metrics, and continual improvement.
