The Patient Care Specialist – Orthopedic Surgery Coordination role is onsite in Schenectady, NY, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pay is $18–$26 per hour. The role supports an orthopedic surgeon and coordinates care between patients and providers. The specialist coordinates tests, procedures, surgeries, and appointments, while managing documentation and patient communications. By tracking clearances, records, and deadlines, the role helps patients and providers move through the surgical care process with organized follow-up.

What you'll do

• Follow up on past, present, and future patient visits
• schedule surgeries and pre- and post-operative appointments
• follow up on clearances and documentation
• complete disability, workers’ compensation, physical therapy referral, and prior authorization paperwork
• receive and process correspondence
• reschedule appointments
• respond to calls and tasks, including emergency appointment requests
• coordinate provider schedules
• obtain patient information and records
• communicate with case managers.

Why this role
