Mechanical Technician — Industrial Plant Maintenance

The Mechanical Technician role is onsite in Peoria, IL, with a rotating shift. Pay is $28–$36 per hour. Liberty Steel USA manufactures steel for infrastructure and industrial growth and emphasizes safety and sustainability. The technician inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, repairs, and rebuilds production machinery, facility systems, and mobile equipment across assigned plant areas. The work restores equipment, reduces repeat failures and unplanned downtime, and supports scheduled maintenance and outages.

What you'll do

• Inspect, diagnose, repair, rebuild, and install mechanical components
• complete preventive maintenance, lubrication, alignment, and condition checks
• maintain equipment in the Arc Shop, Rod Mill, Wire and Drawing Mill, Buildings and Grounds, and Auto Shop
• document work orders and coordinate with Operations, planners, engineers, contractors, and other trades
• follow site safety and equipment-isolation procedures.
