Engineering Technician V — Steam Propulsion

The Engineering Technician V role is onsite in Virginia Beach, VA, with work in an office and at industrial repair facilities. Pay is $35–$45 per hour. QED Systems supports engineering, inspection, procurement, overhaul, refurbishment, logistics, and lifecycle work for amphibious surface ship steam propulsion equipment. The technician manages material and inventory activity and provides engineering oversight and subject-matter expertise for steam propulsion and auxiliary equipment repair. The role supports repair quality and lifecycle readiness through coordination with customers and repair facilities, quality checkpoints, and technical review.

What you'll do

• Track material movements and perform warehouse management and inventory control
• provide subject-matter expertise on steam propulsion and auxiliary equipment and repair processes
• build customer and repair-facility relationships
• conduct engineering oversight and quality-assurance checkpoints
• travel between the office and repair facilities, with some travel potentially extending outside the area for extended periods.
