The Senior Ground Systems Engineer – Fluids role is onsite in Wallops Island, VA. Compensation is not specified. The engineer supports Rocket Lab’s Neutron launch vehicle ground systems, which enable its reusable launch platform and missions. This role provides technical ownership for designing, building, and activating critical fluid systems, helping ensure ground systems are reliable and ready to support launch operations. It also works with suppliers, technicians, and cross-functional teams from concept through commissioning.

What you'll do

• Design fluid systems for cryogenics, hydraulics, fuels, high-pressure gases, and HVAC
• create 2D and 3D CAD models using NX
• size and analyze systems using calculations and numerical methods
• generate and maintain P&IDs and connection diagrams
• select components and maintain bills of materials
• work with suppliers and internal teams
• support launch pad fluid-system certification and maintenance-program development
• mentor entry-level engineers.
