The Automation Technician role is onsite in Pontiac, MI, with compensation of $60,000–$80,000 per year. Peninsula Plastics Company’s manufacturing team uses rotary thermoforming equipment and ABB robotic trim cells. The technician prepares and improves robotic trim cells for production projects, making adjustments and troubleshooting during production. The role also supports cycle-time goals through robot and PLC programming, fixture and tooling development, simulation, and technical documentation.

What you'll do

• Write and modify robot programs
• design and build robot-cell fixturing and end-of-arm tooling
• simulate robot systems
• develop technical documentation
• make changes to achieve cycle time
• document program, fixture, and tooling changes
• program PLCs, robots, motion systems, and vision systems
• configure communications, robot zones, and I/O
• troubleshoot production equipment.
