Structured Cable Technician

Job overview

The Structured Cable Technician is an onsite role based in Lock Haven, PA, with national travel to job sites. Pay is $25–$29 per hour. The technician installs structured cabling systems under the supervision of a job-site foreperson and structured cabling superintendent. The role lays out cable pathways and telecommunications room hardware, splices copper and fiber, and coordinates horizontal and backbone cabling. It also supports small project execution, apprentice training, and project closeout, contributing to Tri-M Group’s commercial electrical services.

What you'll do

• Lay out and install primary cable raceways and telecommunications room hardware
• splice copper and fiber-optic cable and plan and execute system cutovers
• coordinate and install horizontal and backbone cabling
• provide on-the-job training to structured cabling apprentices
• run small projects or portions of larger projects and administer closeout
• complete job journals, timesheets, and equipment records
• maintain company equipment, materials, tools, and vehicles
• respond to emergency service requests outside regular duty hours.
