Job overview

The Cook role is onsite in Modesto, CA, with compensation of $17–$21 per hour. The cook reports to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager and supports Denny’s restaurant operations. The cook prepares and presents food to order according to menu specifications, timing standards, and food-safety requirements. The role supports guest satisfaction and efficient kitchen operations through food preparation, stock management, cleanliness, and teamwork.

What you'll do

• Prepare, cook, and present food to order according to brand standards and recipes
• follow prep charts and store and rotate perishable stock
• maintain food temperatures and safe food handling
• prepare special orders
• maintain shift stock levels
• organize work areas and storage
• assist with inventory and deliveries
• clean kitchen equipment and complete side work and deep cleaning
• monitor waste and food costs
• address guest concerns and notify supervisors
• assist service assistants as needed.
