The Animal Care Project Trainer role is onsite in Rutland, MA, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pay starts at $21.53 per hour and may reach $24.54 per hour based on education and relevant experience. The role supports Devereux Day School students, ages 6 through 21, through animal-science learning and vocational skill development. The trainer combines animal care with classroom and hands-on instruction, helping students learn foundational animal-care, safe-handling, and kennel skills. The work contributes to students’ vocational, transitional, and social-emotional learning.

What you'll do

• Deliver classroom-based and hands-on lessons using an animal-science curriculum
• provide routine animal care, including feeding, cleaning, sanitizing kennels, and medication administration if needed
• plan relevant field trips
• teach basic animal care, behavior assessment, safe handling, obedience concepts, and kennel maintenance.
