Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Long Term Care - PRN Days in Madison, NE. This is an onsite position with a salary range of $24.00 - $36.00 per hour. Good Samaritan is a not-for-profit organization with over 100 years of service to seniors. The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. This role demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles and contributes to the assessment of residents.

What you'll do

  • Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
  • Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
  • Possesses the ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to recognize problems, recommend solutions and respond effectively to assist in an emergent situation.
  • Ensures the health, comfort and safety of residents.
  • Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Documents resident interactions and outcomes.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality.
  • Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocate on prevention and treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program.

What we're looking for

Education
Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board.
Experience
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
