Assistant Chief Engineer

The Assistant Chief Engineer role is onsite in Phoenix, AZ. Compensation is $37–$40 per hour. The position supports Paragon Services’ building engineering work for customers throughout the Phoenix valley. The role performs and coordinates building maintenance and repair while helping lead building engineers and maintenance technicians through daily operations. Its work helps keep commercial building systems in good working order and responds to property-management work orders.

What you'll do

• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems
• obtain and compare outside-vendor estimates
• perform electrical tasks such as relamping, ballast replacement, and resetting breakers
• repair plumbing fixtures and maintain drains and restrooms
• adjust doors and closers
• repair ceiling grids and replace tiles
• inspect and maintain mechanical systems
• conduct visual roof inspections and minor repairs
• keep utility and storage rooms orderly
• respond to property-management work orders
• perform general repairs and maintenance
• lead building engineers and maintenance technicians in day-to-day operations.

Why this role

Requires a universal refrigerant handler’s license (EPA), a valid driver’s license, and at least five years of commercial real estate building-engineer experience. High school diploma or GED is required.
