TAC Lab Systems Administrator

Job overview

The TAC Lab Systems Administrator role is hybrid, with daily onsite coverage in Fort Meade, MD, Monday through Friday during core hours of 0900–1500 ET; the onsite and telework balance is set by the COR at award. Compensation is $130,000–$160,000 per year. RAND Consulting Group supports the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. The administrator maintains the security and performance of a DoD technology analysis lab so assessments, evaluations, and pilots can run without interruption. The role manages system and database operations, infrastructure, automation, and security remediation in coordination with information systems security staff.

What you'll do

• Administer lab environments by generating builds, tuning and optimizing systems, applying customizations and patches, performing backups, and managing physical, virtual, and containerized infrastructure
• manage user accounts, Active Directory, groups, access, and permissions
• perform database health checks, updates, security, backups, and log management
• maintain containerized environments, microservices, and infrastructure as code
• automate deployments and lab tasks with Python, Bash, and PowerShell
• work with the ISSO and ISSM on security compliance, remediation, mitigations, and POA&M artifacts.

Why this role

Active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship required; minimum eight years of DoD systems and database administration; DoD 8140 Basic proficiency certification for DCWF roles 451 and 421 required before award or within three months of award; position contingent on contract award.
