Interns learn front-desk, scheduling, patient-flow, records, privacy, and billing basics, with training and mentorship toward a completion certificate after at least 600 hours.

What you'll do

• Under supervision, learn professional phone etiquette and patient scheduling
• use MEDENT electronic health record basics
• perform patient check-in and check-out procedures
• help manage patient flow and waiting areas
• practice confidentiality and professionalism
• perform front-desk tasks such as faxing, copying, and filing
• learn psychiatric services, medical terminology, insurance billing and coding, and HIPAA compliance.
