The Fire Alarm Technician I role is onsite in Richmond, VA, paying $28–$30 per hour. M.C. Dean designs, builds, operates, and maintains technology and infrastructure for mission-critical facilities and secure environments. The technician tests, inspects, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains fire alarm systems to support system reliability and code compliance. The role also communicates system performance and repair needs to customers and account managers and completes service documentation.

What you'll do

• Test and inspect fire alarm systems to NFPA and local code standards
• functionally test devices and system components
• report performance and deficiencies
• prepare inspection and service reports
• perform assigned upgrades, installations, pre-testing, and final inspections under supervision
• determine and order repair materials
• respond to service requests and repair or replace equipment
• read blueprints and maintain truck inventory. Participate in scheduled after-hours call rotation.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or GED, relevant experience, and NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level I or passing the NICET I exam within 90 days. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required for access to classified information.
