Direct Support Specialist

The Direct Support Specialist role is onsite across Cranston, Johnston, and Warwick, RI, with a base rate of $24 per hour and an additional $1 per hour weekend differential. West Bay supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities. The specialist provides individualized daily support that helps people build independence, make informed choices, pursue personal goals, and participate in their communities. The role works with individuals, coworkers, families, and community partners while following care plans and agency procedures.

What you'll do

• Support activities of daily living, personal care, household tasks, health maintenance, and relationship development
• promote informed choices, independence, self-advocacy, and community participation
• follow individualized care plans and agency procedures, including medication administration as required
• monitor, document, and report progress and needs
• maintain a safe and respectful environment
• maintain required certifications and training.

Why this role
