The Managing Director, Development & External Affairs role is onsite in Bethesda, MD. The salary range is $140,000–$150,000 per year. KID Museum is an experiential learning organization that empowers young people through hands-on programs, workshops, educator partnerships, and community engagement. The role leads fundraising growth and external relationships to expand the museum’s impact and visibility. It develops fundraising strategy, cultivates major donors and partners, and communicates the organization’s work to support its mission and long-term growth.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute fundraising strategy across major gifts, foundations, corporate partnerships, government funding, campaign giving, and emerging opportunities
• manage a portfolio of donors, funders, and strategic partners
• serve as an external ambassador
• work with leadership and the Board
• develop compelling cases for support with program and communications colleagues.
