Automation Field Service Technician

Job overview

The Automation Field Service Technician role is onsite in Elk Grove Village, IL, with 100% travel Monday through Friday and compensation of $22.53–$25.83 per hour. MC Machinery Systems provides industrial automation systems and customer field service. The technician installs, assembles, troubleshoots, modifies, and tests automation systems at customer facilities, with telephone support when appropriate. The role also helps customers operate and maintain systems and supports safe, reliable installation through wiring, programming, and system checks.

What you'll do

• Assemble and connect system components
• install wiring and make mechanical modifications
• troubleshoot problems
• update and program PC-based and PLC controls
• operate and adjust systems before anchoring
• instruct customers on operation and maintenance
• install safety fences, chains, switches, lights, and sirens and explain them to operators
• prepare weekly expense reports and paperwork.
