The Swim Instructor role is onsite in Saint Charles, IL, and pays $15–$18 per hour. Goldfish Swim School helps children reach their goals through swim instruction and water-safety education. The instructor teaches students using the school curriculum and helps them develop safe swimming skills. The role also supports student progress, family communication, pool safety, and a positive experience for students and parents.

What you'll do

• Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
• enforce safety rules and regulations and make rescues or administer first aid when necessary
• evaluate student progress and complete paperwork
• communicate with parents or guardians about activities and skill development
• help resolve student challenges
• inspect pool areas and report maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues
• maintain pool equipment and lane lines
• report incidents and complete documentation
• perform Deck Teacher duties as needed
• occasionally perform light cleaning
• attend required workshops and in-service training.

Why this role

Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications are required; shallow-water attendant certification is highly recommended. Two or more years of swimming-instructor experience and experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor or coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider are required. High school diploma or GED is preferred.
