Direct Support Professional (DSP)

The Direct Support Professional role is onsite in Corvallis, OR, supporting people in homes, community locations, and day support settings. Pay is $25–$26 per hour. North Star Oregon is a locally operated agency supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build independence and remain connected to their communities. The DSP provides person-centered assistance with daily living, skill-building, community participation, and health needs. Respecting individual choice and documenting support accurately helps people work toward personal goals and maintain independence.

What you'll do

• Assist with hygiene, dressing, mobility, meal preparation, and other daily living needs
• support community activities, outings, appointments, and skill-building
• respect choice, dignity, privacy, independence, and self-determination
• support social, communication, and independent living skills according to support plans
• assist with medication support and documentation
• complete electronic documentation
• maintain a safe environment
• collaborate with individuals, families, guardians, coworkers, case managers, and other support team members
• respond appropriately to emergencies and unexpected situations.

Why this role

No DSP experience is required; paid training is provided. CPR and First Aid certification must be current or completed through agency-provided training after hire. Optional overtime is available but never mandatory; part-time hours may grow into full-time based on availability and service needs.
