The optician evaluates prescriptions and visual requirements, recommends lenses and frames, takes measurements, and fits eyewear. The role supports patients’ vision needs through product selection, adjustments, contact-lens guidance, and ordering frames and lenses.

What you'll do

• Evaluate prescriptions and visual requirements
• recommend lenses, coatings, and frames
• measure bridge and eye size, temple length, vertex distance, pupillary distance, and optical centers
• help customers select frames
• adjust frames
• show customers how to insert, remove, and care for contact lenses
• use lensometers or lens analyzers when needed
• order and purchase frames and lenses.
