Job overview
The Part-Time Youth Counselor Supervisor role is onsite in New Albany, IN, with evening and weekend hours on the second shift, 4 p.m.–midnight, for approximately 24 hours per week. The posting lists pay of $20 per hour. Open Door Youth Services’ mission is to respond to vulnerable children and youths’ needs and promote their healthy development. The supervisor mentors residents and supports Youth Counselors through coaching and evaluation. The role helps maintain a safe living environment, supports restorative practices, completes resident intakes and discharges, documents progress, and assists residents with daily activities and independent-living skills. The position participates in an on-call rotation and responds to crisis situations.
What you'll do
- Support and oversee environment-of-care responsibilities
- oversee restorative task assignments
- coach and evaluate Youth Counselors
- complete resident intakes and discharges
- build therapeutic, individualized relationships
- model positive behavior and boundaries
- supervise and mentor residents in daily activities
- assist with transportation, medication per physician orders, independent-living skills, outings, and activities
- document resident progress and staff contacts
- communicate with families, service providers, and staff
- participate in an on-call rotation and respond to crises.
