Electrical Construction Cost Engineer

The Electrical Construction Cost Engineer role is primarily office-based with regular visits to active industrial and construction sites in Rochester, NY. Compensation is $40–$60 per hour, with eligibility for an annual bonus and long-term incentive plan. The role supports Re:Build’s multidisciplinary engineering and fabrication work for industrial clients. The engineer develops cost estimates grounded in drawings, vendor pricing, schedules, labor plans, and field conditions. Accurate estimates and procurement planning help the team deliver turnkey process equipment and automation projects.

What you'll do

• Build cost models from bid packages
• perform takeoffs from electrical drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics
• verify conditions through site walks
• confirm constructability with project and field teams
• validate specifications and vendor pricing
• coordinate permitting and compliance
• specify and procure electrical materials and control systems
• manage vendor quotes and delivery timelines
• document estimate assumptions and revisions
• apply NEC, NFPA 70, and OSHA requirements.
