The Teacher Assistant role is onsite in Kansas City, MO, with pay of $18.00–$21.65 per hour and a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. KVC Health Systems is a nonprofit child-placing and behavioral health agency serving children and families. The assistant works alongside teachers and clinical staff to support students with special educational and behavioral needs. The role helps students participate in learning and daily activities while supporting instructional plans, positive behavior, and a safe, inclusive classroom.

What you'll do

  • Support students in the classroom and during daily activities
  • assist teachers with instructional and behavioral interventions
  • help implement Individualized Education Plans
  • foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
  • monitor student progress and maintain documentation
  • collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other school staff.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and one of the listed Missouri qualification pathways: ParaPro Assessment certification, the Missouri 20-hour Substitute Certificate Program and substitute certificate, or at least 36 college credit hours and a substitute certificate. Required substitute certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire where applicable.
