Field Engineer Intern

The Field Engineer Intern role is an in-person, seasonal full-time position split between the local office and assigned jobsite in Des Plaines, IL. Compensation is $23–$25 per hour. McShane Construction offers internship opportunities for people pursuing field construction management and future Project Superintendent work. The intern learns jobsite management for large-scale commercial, multifamily, industrial, or institutional projects while assisting with trade coordination, inspections, progress reporting, and project closeout activities.

What you'll do

• Assist with coordinating multiple trades
• participate in project inspections and complete daily reports
• monitor work progress and notify the Superintendent of delays
• assist with communication with municipal officials
• support punch-list work and completion across project disciplines.
