Counselor – Substance Abuse Treatment

What you'll do

• Assess participants’ substance abuse histories and treatment needs
• develop and document individualized treatment plans
• lead individual counseling and weekly group presentations on topics such as relapse prevention, anger management, parenting, life skills, and co-occurring disorders
• conduct risk and needs assessments
• track attendance and progress
• maintain clinical records
• use crisis intervention and conflict resolution techniques
• and help participants address barriers to treatment completion.
