What you'll do

• Conduct examinations of specimens for bacterial, viral, protozoan, and fungal infections
• calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory equipment
• prepare specimens
• perform laboratory experiments used in diagnosis and treatment
• isolate and maintain microorganism cultures
• identify and classify microorganisms
• follow laboratory safety and infection-prevention procedures.
