The Critical Care Physician Assistant - CVICU role is an onsite position located in Washington, DC. The annual salary range is $135,000 - $185,000, and the role supports the CVICU Critical Care team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. This role exists to provide high-acuity care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, advanced heart failure, and other complex cardiovascular conditions. The Physician Assistant will perform comprehensive examinations, manage therapeutic interventions, and conduct bedside procedures within a multidisciplinary team.

What you'll do

• Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations.
• Establish medical diagnoses through patient assessment, chart review, laboratory data, and diagnostic imaging.
• Initiate and manage therapeutic interventions for respiratory failure, heart failure, shock, renal failure, and other critical illnesses.
• Present patients during multidisciplinary rounds.
• Perform bedside procedures including central venous catheter placement, non-tunneled dialysis catheter insertion, arterial line placement, chest tube insertion, and thoracentesis.
