Accounts Receivable Specialist

The Accounts Receivable Specialist role is hybrid, with remote work available in specified states and in-office work required for employees living within 20 miles of the corporate headquarters. United Wound Healing works to improve wound care and patient outcomes through expert medical care, education, and compassionate support. The role resolves outstanding medical claims and supports accurate revenue-cycle operations. It investigates denials, underpayments, and delayed payments, coordinates with payors and partner facilities, and maintains account records and reporting to support timely claim resolution.

What you'll do

• Investigate and resolve denied, underpaid, and delayed claims
• troubleshoot claim data
• submit written appeals with supporting documentation and follow up
• verify eligibility and payor changes
• update coordination of benefits
• contact insurance payors and partner facility business offices
• identify denial trends and coding issues
• reconcile accounts, identify overpayments, process refund requests and insurance takebacks
• document assigned worklist items and maintain daily accounts receivable reporting.
