The Design Drafter — Construction role is onsite in Carson City, NV, with an hourly pay range of $25–$36. Wood Structures Inc. is seeking drafting support for residential and small commercial building projects, including custom home design and commercial spaces. The drafter turns concepts, sketches, and instructions into accurate technical drawings that guide construction and design work. The role supports project coordination, permitting, revisions, and as-built documentation so teams can carry projects through completion.

What you'll do

• Prepare 2D and/or 3D construction drawings using CAD or BIM software
• develop floor plans, elevations, sections, and details
• convert sketches and markups into technical drawings
• revise drawings based on feedback and field or engineering changes
• check compliance with building codes and zoning requirements
• prepare permit drawing packages
• coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants
• support material takeoffs and quantity estimates
• maintain drawing files and version control
• provide as-built drawings
• visit sites as needed to verify dimensions and conditions.
