The Travel Registered Nurse — Pediatric Cardiac ICU (Night Shift) role is onsite in Dallas, TX; compensation is listed as $1,696 per hour. The role supports the 27-bed Pediatric CICU on the third floor of the children’s unit. The schedule is 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m., with rotating weekend nights on Friday and Saturday and no call. The nurse provides specialized care for pediatric cardiac intensive-care patients, including congenital heart disease and postoperative cardiac cases. The role contributes to unit coverage and patient care, with possible floating to PICU, NICU, pediatric medical-surgical, or pediatric oncology units.

What you'll do

• Provide nursing care in the Pediatric CICU
• manage postoperative cardiac and general surgical recovery
• care for congenital heart disease patients
• manage arterial, central, and transthoracic lines
• support intubation and extubation, conscious sedation, codes, ECMO, CRRT, manual peritoneal dialysis, and sternal closures
• float to listed pediatric units when needed.

Why this role

Requires two years of PICU staff RN experience, one year of Pediatric CICU/CVICU staff RN experience, three to four dedicated Pediatric CICU travel contracts, congenital heart disease and postoperative CHD experience, and PALS, BLS, and ACLS. Preferred experience includes neonatal cardiac patients and pediatric cardiac step-down or cardiology.
