Field Technician I — Soils and Materials Testing

What you'll do

• Test soils, plastic concrete, bituminous materials, and masonry products in the field or laboratory
• perform field and Proctor density tests
• observe excavations and compare observations with soil boring logs
• perform hand-auger borings under project manager direction
• report test results
• communicate with project managers, clients, contractors, and suppliers
• maintain laboratory, instruments, and equipment
• follow regulations and quality and safety policies
• travel regionally and occasionally out of town.
