The Environmental and Solid Waste Project Manager role is onsite in La Plata, MD, with office, field, construction-site, landfill, and other project locations throughout Charles County; compensation is not specified. The position supports the Charles County Department of Public Works through Turner & Townsend Heery. The role coordinates environmental, solid waste, water resources, civil infrastructure, and capital improvement projects across their life cycle. It helps ensure projects meet scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements through coordination with County staff, consultants, contractors, agencies, and other stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Manage multiple environmental, solid waste, civil infrastructure, and capital projects
• provide project management and owner's representative services from planning through closeout
• monitor schedules, budgets, scopes, risks, and documentation
• coordinate County departments, consultants, contractors, agencies, and utilities
• review designs, reports, specifications, estimates, and permits
• track progress, expenditures, changes, and performance
• support procurement, contract administration, commissioning, and closeout.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least seven years of relevant project management experience. Experience in environmental or solid waste infrastructure is desirable; PE, PMP, CCM, or similar certification is preferred.
