Provides leadership and direction in the assigned unit; Role models positive communication skills; Listen to shift report and keep open lines of communication; Make rounds to residents to observe their physical and psychosocial status; Assign personnel appropriately; Ensure unit personnel carry out assignments; Attend nurses and team meetings; Initiate disciplinary action when performance warrants
