GMP Production Team Lead — Food Operations

Job overview

The GMP Production Team Lead — Food Operations role is onsite in Manteno, IL, with compensation of $24–$28 per hour. The role supports food production operations by coordinating people and materials and keeping production moving while maintaining safety and quality. The team lead assigns and coaches line staff, monitors throughput, addresses operator-level issues, and works with Quality Assurance and Warehouse teams. The role helps ensure production follows approved recipes, specifications, standard procedures, and food-safety requirements.

What you'll do

• Set daily line assignments and adjust them as needs change
• train new hires on tasks, safety, quality targets, and processing steps
• rotate stations and schedule breaks
• identify constraints and relieve bottlenecks
• troubleshoot operator-level issues and perform basic equipment upkeep
• model safe practices and enforce PPE, GMPs, food-safety rules, and company policies
• partner with QA
• audit processes against specifications and SOPs and correct deviations
• record output, downtime, and material usage
• complete production boards and centerline documentation
• stage materials and confirm approved recipes are followed
• coordinate material needs with Warehouse
• report equipment concerns, shortages, safety issues, and production roadblocks
• coach team members and support continuous improvement.
