Safety Intern

The Safety Intern role is an onsite position based in Connellsville, PA. Compensation is not specified, supporting the Aggregate and Ready-Mix operations at Heidelberg Materials. This internship provides hands-on experience in occupational health and safety. The intern will assist with safety initiatives, compliance activities, inspections, training, and continuous improvement projects, reporting to the Area Safety Manager to help create a safe and healthy workplace.

What you'll do

• Assist with safety inspections, audits, and field observations to identify hazards and support risk reduction efforts.
• Participate in incident investigations, data analysis, and corrective action tracking.
• Support the development and delivery of safety training, toolbox talks, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Help maintain safety records, compliance documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Partner with operations and safety teams on projects that promote a strong safety culture.
