What you'll do

• Analyze specifications and lay out metal stock
• set up and operate manual lathes, mills, surface grinders, and related tool-room equipment
• fabricate and maintain precision tooling for progressive and compound dies
• troubleshoot, modify, and repair dies
• fabricate and assemble tooling for new dies and fixtures
• inspect dimensions using optical comparators, surface plates, and other devices
• heat-treat parts to required hardness.
