Survey Technician

The Survey Technician role is a full-time, onsite position in Fargo, ND, with a mixture of office and field work. Compensation is not specified. The technician supports Houston Engineering’s civil engineering and surveying projects across the Midwest. This role gathers and processes survey data and prepares survey documents to support project design and construction. Working with a survey crew, the technician helps deliver accurate boundary, preliminary, construction-staking, and as-built surveys.

What you'll do

• Travel to jobsites to collect survey data and jobsite information
• measure points, elevations, and contours
• process data in accordance with regulations and professional standards
• perform surveying calculations, deed research, deed plotting, and map checks
• prepare survey plats, drawings, legal descriptions, and alignment drawings
• meet schedules and productivity objectives set by the Survey Crew Chief. Construction observation may also be included.
