Assistant Technician

The Assistant Technician is an onsite, full-time role in Bakersfield, CA, with a Monday-through-Friday schedule from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pay is $18 per hour. The role supports Divert’s Analytics, Modular, and complete RNG facilities. Divert’s mission is to prevent food waste through infrastructure and technology, recover edible food, and transform unsold food into renewable energy. The assistant technician carries out preparation, cleaning, light maintenance, and operational tasks that support food analysis and recovery. The work helps process packaged food for donation and maintain safe, orderly facilities under the direction of a Lead Technician.

What you'll do

• Organize, sort, and process packaged food products for donation
• inspect, break down, clean, and stack organic-material bins
• maintain a clean and safe work environment and promptly escalate concerns
• operate hand pallet jacks
• assist the Lead Technician with basic tasks and other assigned operational activities
• participate in shift handoff meetings and scheduled training. The posting also notes willingness to work overtime.
