The role supports Fortner Bayens’ tax planning, preparation, and consulting services for clients, including community banks and financial institutions. The manager leads complex tax return work and client relationships, advises on tax issues and planning, and supervises and develops tax staff. The role also researches tax law changes and supports due diligence and merger and acquisition consulting.

What you'll do

• Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns and estimates, including multi-entity corporate returns and multistate apportionment
• prepare and review individual, trust, partnership, exempt organization, and employee benefit plan returns
• manage client relationships and tax issues
• represent clients before taxing authorities when needed
• supervise and train tax staff
• research tax law changes
• and support tax planning, due diligence, and M&A consultation for community banks.
