Utility Locator (Field Technician)

The Utility Locator (Field Technician) role is an onsite field position in Lake Forest, CA, paying $23.50 per hour. Stake Center Locating trains entry-level technicians to locate underground utilities and support damage prevention in the community. The technician uses maps, blueprints, and locating equipment to identify underground utilities and mark their locations. The work also involves processing tickets, communicating with homeowners and colleagues, and responding to emergency calls during scheduled on-call rotations.

What you'll do

• Use a laptop to receive, document, and process tickets and email
• read maps and interpret blueprints
• determine locating methods and sequence
• use locating equipment and technology to locate underground utilities
• mark locations with paint and flags
• communicate with peers, managers, and homeowners
• respond to emergency calls during scheduled on-call shifts.
