Head Swim Team Coach

Job overview

The Head Swim Team Coach role is onsite in Putnam, CT, with pay of $20 per hour. The coach leads the YMCA of Greater Hartford Swim Team program under the Aquatics Director. The coach develops and oversees team programming, staff, and training schedules to meet community needs and YMCA objectives. The role supports swimmer development and team participation while promoting the YMCA’s character values and team philosophy.

What you'll do

• Direct swim team activities
• develop and expand program offerings
• build community partnerships
• model character development and YMCA values
• recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate coaches and volunteers
• develop practice and meet schedules and age-appropriate training
• meet with swimmers and parents about goals and progress
• monitor program budgets and participation
• and coordinate pool facilities with the Aquatics Department.
